Ethical Commitment
The Journal of Climate Justice is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing practice. The journal expects all authors, reviewers, and editors to adhere to internationally recognised principles of scholarly conduct.
Originality and Plagiarism
All submissions must be original work. Manuscripts must not:
- Contain plagiarised material
- Be previously published in whole or in part
- Be under consideration by another journal
All submissions may be screened using plagiarism-detection software. Submissions found to contain unacceptable levels of overlap will be rejected.
Authorship Responsibility
Authors must:
- Ensure that all listed authors have made significant scholarly contributions
- Obtain consent from all co-authors prior to submission
- Accurately acknowledge sources and references
- Disclose any potential conflicts of interest
Guest, honorary, or undisclosed authorship is not permitted.
Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the evaluation or interpretation of the research.
Ethical Research Practice
Where research involves human participants, communities, or sensitive data, authors must confirm that appropriate ethical approvals and informed consent procedures were followed.
The journal respects cultural, indigenous, and community-based knowledge systems and expects responsible engagement in research involving vulnerable communities.
AI and Digital Tools
Artificial intelligence tools may be used for language editing or technical assistance. However, AI tools must not be used to generate substantive academic content, research analysis, or original argumentation.
Authors remain fully responsible for the intellectual integrity of their work.
Misconduct and Retractions
In cases of suspected academic misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or ethical violations, the journal reserves the right to:
- Reject the manuscript
- Retract published articles
- Inform relevant institutions if necessary

Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, relevance, and academic quality. The journal does not discriminate based on nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, or disciplinary background.
