Dr. Lesya M. Sabada is a scholar of religion, peacebuilding, and environmental ethics at St. Thomas More College, University of Saskatchewan, Canada. She also serves as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at the United Nations University for Peace, San José, Costa Rica.

She holds a Doctorate in Religious Peacebuilding from St. Paul University–University of Ottawa, a Master of Arts in Eastern Christian Studies from the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan.

Her research focuses on religious peacebuilding, ecological theology, environmental ethics, religion and science, interreligious dialogue, and Eastern Christian theology. She has conducted international field research on climate change, biodiversity conservation, ecosystems, and environmental justice in regions including Antarctica, Iceland, the Amazon Basin, the Galápagos Islands, the Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Japan, and Tonga.

Dr. Sabada has delivered keynote addresses and presented papers at numerous international conferences organised by the World Council of Churches and other global academic institutions. She has published widely on ecological theology, climate justice, environmental stewardship, and peacebuilding, and has contributed book chapters to leading volumes on ecotheology and environmental ethics. She currently teaches courses in Religion and Ecology, Peace Studies, Catholic Studies, and Eastern Christian Thought at St. Thomas More College.
