Dr David Joy is a distinguished New Testament scholar, theologian, and ecumenical leader from India. He currently serves as the President of the Senate of Serampore College (University), one of the oldest theological and higher education institutions in Asia. Known for his contextual and liberationist approach to biblical interpretation, he engages Scripture from the perspectives of marginalized and oppressed communities, integrating theology with social justice concerns.

Over the years, Dr Joy has contributed significantly to theological education in India and internationally through teaching, research, and participation in global ecumenical dialogues. His scholarship addresses postcolonial interpretation, justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.
