Biography
Dr Manoj Kurian is a global health leader and ecumenical advocate currently serving as the Director of the Health and Healing programme at the World Council of Churches (WCC), Geneva. He plays a key role in advancing faith-based engagement in public health, health equity, and community-based healthcare systems.
A medical doctor by training, Dr Kurian has extensive experience in primary healthcare, health systems strengthening, and global health policy, particularly in low- and middle-income country contexts. His work focuses on promoting holistic health approaches that integrate physical, mental, social, and spiritual well-being.
He is widely recognised for promoting the role of faith-based organisations in public health, emphasising dignity, justice, and compassionate care as central to health systems.
