Biography
Dr Viji Varghese Eapen is an ecumenical theologian and missiologist, widely respected for his academic contributions to theology, mission studies, and ecumenical engagement. He currently serves as the Principal of Bishop Mani Theological Institute, Kottayam, an institution affiliated with the Senate of Serampore College (University), where he provides academic leadership and promotes contextual and ecumenical theological education.
Dr. Eapen holds a PhD in Christian Theology from Dublin City University. His research explores themes of justice, inclusion, and the role of the church in engaging with marginalized communities. His academic interests include liturgical theology, ecumenical mission, public witness, and ecological justice.
He has contributed to theological scholarship through teaching, writing, and editorial work. He has served as visiting faculty at Kerala United Theological Seminary and has lectured in international academic settings including Dublin City University.
